One of the features of our juicer, the Jay Kordich PowerGrind Pro, is it’s ability to make great tasting nut milks. In this video Linda is making Almond & Carrot nut milk and it is delicious! The creaminess of the almond milk along with the sweetness from the carrots makes for a wonderful, healthy and tasty drink.
You could make just plain almond milk if you’d like, however we like to add a little natural sweetener from fresh fruit or in this case, using carrots. There are many different types of nut milks and seed milks and we will be bringing you more recipes in the weeks and months ahead.

RECIPE
- 2 cups Almonds, soak overnight or 8 to 24 hours.
Drain the soaking water before using the Almonds.
- 1 cup fresh water
- 6 to 10 carrots for juicing.

Great video. Wanted to know what the recipe is for making the almond/carrot cookies with the pulp? Thanks
Thanks for the great almond milk recipe. I’ve made it before in a blender but it is 100 X better tasting made in a juicer. I also am adding avocado to juice, now, using the same principle.
Just made my Almond Nut Milk an hour ago with my Power Grind Pro. I used an organic pear in this batch. Next batch, I will use carrots with the almonds. I’m contacting my local health food store to get a discount for bulk organic almonds.
After all these years, months, and days, the ball has finally dropped. A light bulb went on and I’m juicing on a daily basis. My ph levels, within one week, are at the optimum 7.25.
I just picked up two 25 lb. bags of organic carrots (California grown), and have placed another order for a box of organic canteloupe. I love the beat juice with 3 apples (Jay’s Liver Mover).
Familiar faces I meet at my local grocery store know I’m back into juicing with a passion and your names, Jay & Linda Kordich, are passed on in all my discussions about juicing.
What has motivated me to get back into daily juicing–is when I see my longtime friends becoming ill (I’m 64 years old) and having to depend of multiple medications. I guess, I’m a coward because I don’t want to share their present health conditions. Whenever my friends come over to my home I always make them fresh juice.
Please let me know when your blender attachment is available to purchase.

Hi Jay & Linda: Congrats ,Jay, on your 88th celebration of life tomorrow.
I followed up on my order for more organic, non-roasted almonds today at my local health food store (Vital Health, Creston, BC). I got a ‘heavenly’ discount and purchased 22 pounds. I keep them in the basement of the house in a dry insulated cooler .
I threw out all cow’s milk (casein & pasteurized) I had in the fridge. I gave away some bags of non-organic apples (on the ‘dirty dozen’ list). I have an order placed at my local Overwaitea store for more organic canteloupe (they now support an organic farm in Armstrong, BC, so I’m going to encourage those folks to keep up the good work by purchasing their product). Again, I get my ‘heavenly’ discount at this store.
When I make my almond milk, I soak 1-1/2 cups of almonds overnight (just cover them with filtered water). The next day, they have swollen up to 2 cups of almonds. I use more than 1 cup of filtered water to chase them through Jay’s beautiful Power Grind Pro juicer (approximately 1-3/4 cups of water). I find that the milk is still rich and grit-free. I love the feature with this grinder/juicer of not having to use a cheesecloth bag to filter out any fibre–a big bonus! I’m looking forward to Linda’s advice on making brown rice milk with the Power Grind Pro.
I’m not a surfer like Jay, but I’m riding a juicing wave right now and continue to be enthused. I talk to all of my friends and acquaintances about the high-nutrient power in food available through juicing. I tend to use up their oxygen with my exhuberant conversation.
I was a little bit tired the last couple of weeks. I’ve been a very poor sleeper for years. I take my afternoon power nap as best I can–got to give that liver a rest. I’ll incorporate more organic celery juice at night with one of Jay’s juicing combos for sleep. I’m back exercising, so this should also help. I threw out any coffee I had in the house. Instead, I have the half an organic lemon with peel (juiced) in a cup of warm water every morning–good for the liver. I think the tiredness was also due to the toxins leaving my system thru the juicing–new and & improved pH (7.25)–going towards alkaline–a great product from the ‘art of juicing’. My energy is now starting to return.
In honour (Canuck spelling) of Jay’s birthday (celebration of life), I’m going to make Jay’s favourite drink–carrot & apple–and toast him as if he was in my home. I can’t help but feel your genuine, positive presence–what a trip!
Love you both, ‘H’
I just received my Power Grind Pro 3 days ago and have been happily juicing ever since. Thank you for a beautifully designed machine. I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night. Could you please suggest some “nightime” juice combos to help me sleep? Happy 88th……may you experience many, many more.
Here’s one of Jay’s recipes named, ‘Calming Nightcap’: 5 carrots, 2 stalks of celery, large handful of parsley. Pleasant dreams! ‘H’
It is important to soak your Almonds! Almonds contain ‘enzyme inhibitors’, making them difficult to digest. They also contain ‘phytates’ [organic acids] that prevent mineral absorption in the small intestines. Soaking is better than roasting to remove these ‘nasties’. You don’t want to damage your machine with roasted nuts. It’s good to know these tidbits behind the ‘why’s’.
